Spiced Pear Vodka

It's easy to make your own homemade Spiced Pear Vodka, perfect autumn treat. Enjoy in a cocktail or chilled in a shot glass, this will elevate your holiday season. Vodka infusion made with pears, cinnamon, star anise and cloves, tastes like Christmas!

Equipment

  • 3 glass jars (1 pint each) 550ml glass jars

Ingredients

  • 1 litre Vodka
  • 6 pears
  • 3 cinnamon sticks
  • 3 cloves
  • 3 star anise (whole)
  • 3 tablespoons honey

Instructions

  • Remove the pear core and slice into thin spears.
  • Pack pears into glass jars, with spears standing upright. (about 2 pears per jar)
  • Add cinnamon stick, 1 star anise and 1 clove per jar, with a generous tablespoon of honey.
  • Fill jar with vodka, fully submerging pears. Shake and close lid and infuse for 7-10 days in a dark, cool place (like a cupboard).
  • Strain through a sieve or coffee filter. Save the vodka infused pears as a snack or use for baking. Pour spiced pear vodka into a glass bottle and serve chilled.
