So easy to make Homemade Pesto Genovese, using a Mortar and Pestle or with food processor instructions. Fresh Italian Sauce made with only 5 ingredients!
Servings 4 people
- 1 ½ cups Fresh Basil Leaves
- 2 Garlic Cloves
- ¼ cup Pine Nuts toasted
- ¾ cups grated Parmigiano Reggiano Parmesan Cheese
- ¼ cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Pesto in Pestle and Mortar
Place the pine nuts, basil, garlic cloves into a pestle and mortar, and pound it all together, grinding it until it's a paste.
Add the olive oil and cheese and mix together. Salt and pepper to taste.
Food Processor Pesto
Place basil and garlic into the food processor.
Pulse for about 30 seconds.Add Pine Nuts and process for another 30 seconds.
Throw in the Hard Cheese (Parmigiano-Reggiano) and pulse until mixed.
Slowly drizzle in the Italian Olive Oil while food processor is running, until the Pesto is combined.
Season and serve.
