Ingredients

  • 1 lb /500g green beans
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • salt and pepper
  • juice of half a lemon

Instructions

  • Trim the ends off the beans.
  • Bring pot to a boil. Insert the steamer basket with the green beans and cover with lid. Steam for 3-4 minutes until tender but al dente.
  • Melt butter and minced garlic in a frying pan on medium high heat.
  • Remove beans from the steamer and add to frying pan.
  • Toss the green beans in the garlic butter, sauté for about 2-3 minutes
  • Season with salt and pepper, squeeze the juice of half a lemon for a fresh zing.
