cedar planks
Instructions
Fill your sink with water and soak the plank for 2-4 hours. Can add weights on it to keep it submerged under water.
Pat trout with a paper towel until dry. Season with salt. Spread a light layer of honey over the trout fillet. Generously sprinkle the chopped dill over the trout. Top with lemon slices.
Turn on bbq and maintain heat at 300°F (150°C)
Place cedar plank on a bbq grill for about 1 minute, to dry the excess water. When cooking, keep a spray bottle handy to put out any fires if the cedar flares up.
Place the dressed trout, skin side down, on the drier side of the cedar plank and maintain the bbq on medium heat around 300°F/150°C. Cook for about 15-20 minutes until the trout flakes easily. Don't overcook, internal temp should be 145°F (63°C).
Enjoy with your favorite grilled vegetables, salads and carbs.
