Cranberry Sauce Recipe

Homemade Cranberry Sauce

Homemade Cranberry Sauce is incredibly easy to make with only 3 ingredients. My secret is the Ginger Ale. This recipe can also be used to make Lingonberry Sauce, perfect for Thanksgiving or Christmas.

Ingredients

  • 12 oz /350g frozen cranberries or lingonberries
  • 1 cup ginger ale
  • ¾ cup white sugar

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, bring the ginger ale and sugar to a boil until the sugar dissolves.
  2. Place the cranberries in the hot sugar syrup and bring to a healthy boil. Reduce heat to a simmer. Cook the cranberries for about 15 minutes until they start to burst.
  3. Remove cranberry sauce from heat and allow too cool. The sauce will thicken as it cools. When cooled, place in a bowl and keep refrigerated.

Recipe Notes

If you want a classic Cranberry sauce recipe, use water instead of Ginger Ale with 1 cup of sugar (instead of ¾ cup).
