    Recipe Tips and FAQs

    • Extra Butter - Add an extra few tablespoons of butter. This defeats the healthy, however it really elevates the creaminess and flavors
    • Don't Overcook - cooking too long in water can make your Sweet Potatoes waterlogged, impacting the texture
    • Roasting Sweet Potatoes - easy to make Roasted Sweet Potato Mash - roast unpeeled in oven at 400°F (200°C) for 1 hour. Scoop out the insides and mix with ingredients
    • Prepare in Advance - Easy to make this the day before. Place in an airtight container in fridge, then re-heat in a saucepan before serving
    • Dried Herbs - substitute Fresh Herbs with ½ teaspoon of Dried Rosemary or Herbs of your choice. Adjust as needed.

Can I Use Yams Instead of Sweet Potatoes?

Yes! Yams are often used interchangeably with Sweet Potatoes. Yams aren't as sweet but are starchier than Sweet Potatoes, which complements this recipe perfectly. Mashed Yams will be a winner on your dinner plate.

    Storage and Reheating

    • Fridge - place in airtight container and keep refrigerated. Enjoy within 3-4 days
    • Freezer - place in an airtight container and freeze for up to 3 months. Defrost in fridge overnight before heating
    • Reheating - place in a saucepan, add a splash of milk or broth to keep from drying out. Heat over medium heat, stirring constantly.
