Blueberry Tea Cocktail is a hot toddy type of drink, like Glühwein. A mixture of tea and liquors, it's a wonderful way to warm up on a cold winters day, in front of a roaring fire!
How to make Blueberry Tea Cocktail
This isn't a fancy cocktail, and is super easy to make. You only need a few ingredients.
- Orange Pekoe Tea (not Black Tea)
- Grand Marnier
- Amaretto
Start by preparing a pot of Orange Pekoe Tea. You can't use Black Tea as the flavor is completely different. Add 1oz of Grand Marnier and 1 oz of Amaretto into a glass, and add the hot tea. Your hot toddy is ready to enjoy.
Are there blueberries in Blueberry Tea?
No, which might surprise you. The combination of Grand Marnier and Amaretto with the Orange Pekoe tea creates a fruity flavour kind of blueberry-ish. I know that's not a word, however this delicious hot toddy is a great way to wind down and chase the winter blues away.
How to Serve Blueberry Tea Cocktail?
This alcoholic Blueberry Tea is served in a brandy snifter. Before adding liquids into the glass, pre-warm it with hot water. Discard the water and pour in the hot tea. A sugar rim on the glass adds some sweetness and looks a bit fancy. Wet the edges of the glass and place onto a plate of sugar to coat the rim of the glass. Garnish with an orange peel twist when serving. It's kumquat season at my house, so I used a kumquat peel for a nice citrus twist.
