During the Christmas holidays (and Thanksgiving too), it’s such a busy time of year. There is always more to do than we have time for. And so many mouths to feed too! Nobody wants a complicated recipe to add to the stress of the day. My Cranberry Christmas Punch is the perfect drink, the whole family will enjoy.
Christmas Punch with Ginger Ale
This is a non alcoholic party punch, which is made with Ginger Ale. To make a sparkling punch, you don’t need to add Prosecco or Champagne. You can if you want to, some people add vodka as well. The sparkle in this punch comes from the Ginger Ale. I’ve had sherbet in Christmas punch before, but that’s messy and too complicated for me. Remember, I want simple and easy. Did I mention there’s a lot going on?
What to put in Cranberry Punch
As I said, this is an easy Christmas Punch with Cranberries and Ginger Ale. That’s it. There are a few different variations of non-alcoholic punch, but I love this recipe. It’s not too sweet, too tangy and overpowered by fruit flavours. The right amount of sparkling from the Ginger Ale makes it the perfect Christmas party drink.
My thoughts on adding juice to this Christmas punch. Don’t. Some people add orange juice with the cranberry juice. I find that’s a weird flavor combo as the orange juice will over power the cranberry juice. I slice an orange, and throw the slices into the punch bowl. This adds the perfect amount of citrus essence. Don’t take away from the hero of this recipe, the cranberry! The same is true for grapefruit, or even pineapple. If you feel you want more fruit flavor, just add a few pieces of fruit to the punch. Plus mixing citrus or pineapple will make the punch cloudy, which takes away from the festive sparkling punch.
Cranberry Punch for a Crowd
This is a great recipe for a crowd of people for a dinner party, or even an office party. It makes 4 litres of drink, which is good for about 10 people. Of course, depending on how much they drink! A 1:1 ratio makes it easy to add more or less to your punch bowl
I always use frozen cranberries in this Christmas punch, because they make the punch so Christmassy! Don’t skip the cranberries, as it makes the punch more visually appealing. Finally I garnish with a sprig of rosemary. Don’t eat of mix the rosemary with the punch, it’s just a decoration! It’s easy having Christmas in Australia in the summer, fresh rosemary is always growing. If buying rosemary, it will make the recipe cost more, but makes the Christmas punch visually appealing, and therefore tastier!
Christmas Punch with Cranberries is a tasty punch that’s super easy to make, perfect for holiday parties. A non alcoholic cranberry mocktail, the whole family can enjoy. Bon Appetit! Приятного аппетита!
